  5. Unlock 10 Amazing Benefits...

Every woman craves a perfectly fair and flawless complexion, so they spend so many bucks on buying fairness creams and serums. However, women often ignore some straightforward home remedies which can do wonders for their Skin.

One such natural and age-old remedy for a fair complexion is an Ubtan. It is an ayurvedic treatment in a paste made from turmeric, saffron, sandalwood, chickpea, and seeds of yellow mustard.

In Indian households, Ubtan is a part of the marriage ceremonies, where this paste is applied to the bride and bridegroom before marriage for religious and aesthetic purposes.

Also, it is used in traditional Ayurvedic massages to detoxify the skin and body. Ubtan is a relatively easy-to-make herbal preparation that you can regularly use at home, and several variants target specific skin problems.

Origin Of Ubtan

The tradition of Ubtan dates back to ancient texts in India; it is believed that during the Vedic Age, it was prescribed by Vedic physicians for protection, feeding, and beautification of the Skin.

The apparent results obtained with the ‘Ubtan’ application gave widespread publicity about what perhaps became a fashionable routine for men and women in those days, to apply to beautify the Skin. They later established its credibility as a ritual for brides and grooms before marrying.

In modern India, it is still done regularly. It has its particular corner in Hindu marriages as the act of massaging the body with Ubtan so much that for brides and grooms also means the detachment of old life (through Skin) and preparation for the new.

The ubtan is applied like any other cosmetic cream, anointing it on the face and allowing it to rest for a moment before starting to massage gently; being convenient that it is applied before the regular bath to remove any residue with this one.

Why Is Ubtan Good For Your Skin?

Ayurveda history reveals that Ubtan has been used for many ancient years for beauty and glowing Skin. Made from all-natural items, it can be used on all skin types without fear of any side effects.

Also, researchers have evaluated the quality and efficacy of Ubtan as a skincare formulation. This study prepared Ubtan from turmeric, chickpea flour, and sandalwood. It was found that the Ubtan formulation had excellent antioxidant potential and could scavenge free radicals. This was due to the high phenolic and flavonoid content- these are natural antioxidants present in plants.
